Personal data and processing
Siderian considers it important to handle your personal data with care. That is why Siderian processes your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What is personal data?
Personal data is information that can identify an individual. Examples of personal data include your name, date of birth, or telephone number.

What is special personal data?
Special personal data is information that is more sensitive than ‘regular’ personal data. Examples include data about someone’s health, criminal records, or political opinions.

What does the processing of personal data mean?
Everything an organization can do with personal data—such as collecting, transferring, or deleting personal data—is considered processing.

Purposes of data processing

Siderian uses your personal data only for the purposes for which you have provided it to us. Below are the types of purposes for which we process personal data.

Newsletter
You can subscribe to our newsletter on our website by providing your name and e-mail address. By doing so, you consent to receiving e-mails from us. After subscribing, you will regularly receive e-mails with information about our latest services, tools, and developments in the field of Data Management, BPM, and BI.
At the bottom of each newsletter, there is a link that allows you to unsubscribe at any time.

Contact via e-mail or post
You can contact us by e-mail or post with questions. We use the data you provide to respond to your inquiry.

Provision of our services
We process your personal data to provide our services. This includes, for example, sending brochures, registering you for events, or enrolling you in training sessions.
Depending on the service we provide, we may process the following personal data: name, address details, telephone number, e-mail address, and related correspondence. We use this personal data because it is necessary to provide our service to you.

If we do not receive all the personal data we request, this may result in our being unable to provide our services to you or not being able to provide them optimally.

Retention period

We do not retain your personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which you provided it. After that, the data will be destroyed or fully anonymized.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have various rights, which are listed below.
You can submit a request to exercise these rights by e-mail or post. Siderian may refuse your request only if we have a legitimate interest in doing so or if fulfilling your request is not possible on a legal basis.
Your rights include:

  • The right to access your personal data;

  • The right to rectify your personal data if it contains errors;

  • The right to know how we process your personal data;

  • The right to have your personal data deleted;

  • The right to data portability (the right to receive your personal data from us and/or have it transferred to third parties);

  • The right to withdraw consent;

  • The right to object to certain uses of your personal data.

Please make sure you clearly identify yourself so that we can be sure we do not modify or delete data belonging to the wrong person. If necessary, we may contact you before acting on your request and ask for additional information to verify your identity.

If you are required to send a copy of your ID, please black out the following information: your photo, your MRZ (machine-readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), your passport number, and your Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy.

We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, but no later than four weeks.

Transfer and acquisition

We do not share or sell your personal data to third parties, such as other companies or organizations, unless this is necessary for providing our services or required by law.

Companies to which we may need to provide data include business partners involved in delivering our services and event organizers.

When Siderian obtains personal data from third parties, we handle it with the same care as if we had collected it ourselves.

Security

Siderian takes appropriate security measures to protect your data against, among other things, loss, theft, and misuse. We have implemented technical and organizational measures, including access controls for systems and an HTTPS certificate to ensure that data traffic via the website is encrypted.

Complaints

If you have a question or complaint about the processing of your personal data, you can always contact us.
Under the GDPR, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) regarding the processing of your personal data.
In that case, please contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Liability

Despite Siderian’s efforts to prevent it, if your personal data is lost or unlawfully processed, resulting in possible damages to you, we hereby disclaim liability for any such damages, unless the damage is the result of intent or gross negligence on the part of Siderian.
